Our Program

The Cub Scout program is a fun and educational program that welcomes children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our pack enjoys many outdoor activities, hikes and camping opportunities, as well as many events aimed at building character, teaching practical skills, and developing a heart for community service through activities that are fun and engaging. To learn more about the Cub Scout program, please visit https://www.scouting.org/programs/cub-scouts/.

RANK ADVENTURES

Cub Scouts work on rank specific, age appropriate required Adventures focused on topics such as team building, healthy living, physical fitness, outdoor and essential skills, appreciation for nature, and community service. There are also many elective Adventures for each rank/age that include topics such as outdoor sports and games, art, theater, animal care, science, astronomy, geology, engineering, technology and computers, multimedia and so much more!

SPECIAL EVENTS

Cub Scouts and families look forward to coming together as a pack for our special events every year. Special events include the Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Pack-O-Ree, holiday parties, community events, Blue & Gold Dinner, family campouts, day camp and more.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community service builds character and a love for helping others in our community, all while having fun! Community service projects include Scouting for Food, Memorial Day flag placement, community cleanups and conservation projects. Community service is performed both as a Pack as well as within the dens.

Pack Meetings

Our Pack meets once per month where kids from all Dens meet together. Pack meetings may include themed meetings with fun activities, holiday parties, special events like the Pinewood Derby or Raingutter Regatta, and celebrations such as the Blue & Gold dinner.

The Pack also plans many outdoor activities throughout the year such as monthly hikes and family campouts. Hikes range from easy to moderate, and are planned by our Hike Coordinator with consideration for every age and physical ability, from Lions to Webelos.

Summer activities include Day Camp, outings to local events such as Scout Day with the Oakland A’s, overnight campouts on the U.S.S. Hornet and at the Chabot Space & Science Center, hockey games, and family picnics.

Den Meetings

Scouts are placed in Dens according to their school year:

  • Lions: Kindergarten
  • Tigers: 1st grade
  • Wolves: 2nd grade
  • Bears: 3rd grade
  • Webelos: 4th grade
  • Arrows of Light: 5th grade

The Den is a small group of children that work together with their Den Leader and parents to complete activities (Adventures) in order to complete their rank requirements. Den meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
